Update- After receiving the All Clear from authorities, the soft lockdown has been lifted at all Elko schools.

All Elko area schools are on a soft lockdown. Visitors will not be allowed in the schools until the situation is clear. Students and staff are not perceived to be in danger. We will continue to provide updates as they are made available.

Due to icy roads, drifting snow and poor road conditions, Elko, Carlin and Spring Creek schools are on a 2-hour delay Monday, March 4th.

Next year's dual credit dental assisting program is now accepting applications! Must be a junior or a senior during the 24-25 school year to apply. Reminder: school is in session tomorrow, Friday, February 23 for all ECSD schools. Due to the holiday observed Monday, the school week shifts to Tuesday- Friday this week.

All classes at Wells Combined School has been canceled today Feb. 21 due to inclement weather conditions.

Due to icy road conditions, ALL Spring Creek schools are on a two-hour delay Tuesday, Feb. 20. All classes will begin two hours later than their typical start time, and bus pick up times will run exactly two hours later.

Good morning ECSD! Please be advised that start times remain unchanged today in Elko, Spring Creek, Carlin, Jackpot, and Wells. Two-hour delays are in effect for West Wendover and Owyhee schools today only. Those schools have carried out notifications home. Reminder Procedures for School Closures and Delays: Should there be a need to close or delay the start of ECSD schools, the District and/or school will send an automated message to contacts in Infinite Campus, as well as update the district website, app and Facebook no later than 6:00 AM. Please remember to drive slowly and carefully. Please help keep our students safe and look out for each other.

GBC CTE Open House: Happening Tomorrow!

This Saturday at 1 PM Carlin Student Council is hosting a donkey basketball event between the Carlin Fire Dept. and Carlin Police Department. Proceeds go to the Northern Nevada Children's Cancer Foundation.

The Nevada School Climate/Social Emotional Learning Survey (NV-SCSEL) is used to gather student feedback about their experiences at school. The NV-SCSEL surveys are administered to students in grade 5 and up throughout the state of Nevada during the fall of each school year. The NV-SCSEL surveys measure students’ perceptions of key aspects of school climate, including physical and emotional safety, relationships, and cultural and linguistic competence, as well as students’ social and emotional competencies. The survey is an opportunity for students to anonymously share their experiences of their school’s climate with their school, school district, and NDE. To learn more about the survey, visit nevadaschoolclimate.org. Elko County School District will be administering the survey to students (5th -12th grade) between November 20th and December 14th , 2023. Parents can opt their child(ren) out of participating in the survey by contacting their child(ren)’s school.
