Tesla internship signing west wendover

Five West Wendover High School graduates accepted internships at the Tesla Gigafactory Nevada which begin this fall.  The signing  ceremony took place August 11 at West Wendover High School.

The interns will concurrently enroll in certificate or degree programs at Truckee Meadows Community College. Upon completion, the interns will be hired as full-time employees with the automotive company.

The Jobs 4 Nevada Graduates (J4NG)  program at West Wendover High School has played a pivotal role in preparing these graduates for their internships with Tesla. The program's innovative curriculum, tailored to meet the demands of the modern workforce, has equipped students with hands-on skills and theoretical knowledge necessary for success in industries such as electric vehicles and advanced manufacturing.

"Today marks the beginning of a new chapter in the lives of these exceptional graduates," said Craig Kyllonen, the Principal of West Wendover High School. "We are immensely proud of their achievements and their dedication in pursuing their passions. The Tesla Signing Day ceremony not only celebrates their accomplishments but also our school's commitment to fostering excellence in education."

The partnership between West Wendover High School and Tesla speaks to the potential that arises when educational institutions and industry leaders collaborate to provide students with transformative opportunities. The internships at Tesla will allow these graduates to gain invaluable real-world experience while pursuing their education, setting them on a path to becoming leaders in advanced technology.

"These students represent our program and how far we have come. Going into our tenth year, we are proud to have our students represent our school and community. Tesla is an innovative company that is constantly creating. To know our kids will be a part of that makes me so proud," said Lysette Perez, J4NG Specialist.
