The Elko County School District Adult High School offers the Adult High School Diploma and Certificate of High School Equivalency (HSE) preparation programs under Nevada state statutes.

Qualification

Any person age 18 or older who has not graduated from high school and is not enrolled in a high school may begin Certificate of High School Equivalency preparation.

The programs are individualized and competency based.

Cost

There is no cost to participate in these programs. Pre-testing and tutoring are also free.

Registration

Students may enroll at any time during the school district's academic year.

High School Equivalency Test

The HSE test is administered weekly at Great Basin College.

You must pre-register and provide a current photo identification. Please submit the registration and payment of $75.00 at William Berg Hall located on the Great Basin College campus. 

To take the HSE test, go to the Academic Success Center in the Carl Diekhans Center for Industrial Technology. 

Credit Requirements

An adult high school diploma requires 20.5 credits in the following subjects:

4.0 English
3.0 Math
2.0 Science
1.0 U.S. Government
1.0 U.S. History
1.0 Arts & Humanities
0.5 Health
0.5 Computer Literacy
7.5 Electives
